Early Dismissal Policy

Dear Parents;

All along the frequency of early dismissal in our school had gone to an unacceptable level.  Constant interruption whereby our secretary calls a child out or rings the intercom in the classroom, has been very disturbing to both teachers and students.  The Board of Education recognizes that there are situations and occasions that require early dismissal.  Therefore, a policy was instituted for early dismissal.

 1)      Children may be picked up at 5:50 midweek, or 10:35 or 12:45 on Sundays (15 minutes prior to dismissal.)  These times will not result in an absence.

 2)      If you have to get your child earlier, we ask that you pick him/her up at 5:05 midweek, or 10:00 a.m. or 12:00 noon on Sunday.  Children leaving at half time, will be counted as having a half an absence.

 3)      Parents must sign their child(ren) out in the office.  No parents are to proceed to the classroom. Children will be instructed to meet their parents in the office.

 4)      In case of a true emergency, please call us and we will make sure that your child is waiting for you in the office.

 5)      Beginning immediately, children will not be called out except at the times mentioned above.

 Please Note:

All families whose children attend our school must have an access card.  It is a hardship to our staff to continuously buzz all members in.  There is no cost to you for an access card.  Please contact the main office.  After all, the security system has been instituted for your children’s safety and we must all adhere to it.

Your cooperation is greatly appreciated.

Sincerely,

Kathi Salzman Dina Barze’ev-Hochbaum
Chairperson Principal
