On Simhat Torah, we finish reading through the entire Torah and begin reading it from the beginning, all in the same day. 

 The  last aliyah and the first aliyah are therefore great honors, the last known as hatan or kallat (Groom or Bride) Torah and the first known as hatan or kallat (Groom or Bride) of Bereishit (in the beginning...)
